Bass Charity Vase donates £2,700 to support three key areas at Queen’s Hospital Burton
We are incredibly grateful to the Bass Charity Vase (BCV) for their generous donation of £2700 to Queen’s Hospital Burton.
Founded in Burton on Trent in 1889, the Bass Charity Vase is a well-known friendly football tournament that brings teams together annually to compete in a spirit of camaraderie and charity. The proceeds from this event are always donated to local causes, with a special focus on charities connected to healthcare. This longstanding tradition has helped raise much-needed funds for local hospitals and this year was no different.

The BCV committee has chosen to split the £2700 donation equally across three key areas of Queen’s Hospital, all of which President, Dave Mellor highlighted as having touched many of the committee members personally:
- Children’s Ward one – Paediatrics, directed towards Palliative Care
- Department of Cardiology
- Breast Cancer Oncology
This generous contribution will make a difference to the patients and families who rely on these important services, and we are deeply appreciative of the BCV’s continued support of Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity.
