Welcome to airarts.net
Air Arts is the arts charity for
University Hospitals of Derby and Burton.
About Us
Air Arts was established in 2007 with the aim of creating a calm and welcoming environment, providing support and reassurance for patients, staff and visitors, enhancing the environment and providing moments of reflection and distraction.
We do this by bringing art, dance, drama, poetry, storytelling, crafts and music onto the corridors, waiting areas and wards across our five hospitals, working closely with staff and patients to provide personalised creative activities, supporting relationships and improving patient and staff experience.
Air Arts is a wide ranging and ambitious arts in health programme, designed in partnership with staff and patients at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton. The programme aims to distract from illness, improve wellbeing, aid recovery and enhance the hospital experience for 15,000 staff and 2 million patients and visitors every year.
Our NEW EP: Reflective Voices
As part of the finale to the ‘Our National Health Stories’ project we launched our new EP ‘Reflective Voices’ . This was performed during a national live stream event and went on to feature in a final performance at Aviva Studios in Manchester.
Reflective Voices is a compilation of music sharing the voice of UHDB’s staff, through music and song. These original compositions celebrate our wonderful staff and the NHS, and we are proud to launch this EP as part of the Our National Health Stories Project. All tracks composed by Rosie and Jamie Rutherford, featuring Felicity Biacsi as a composer on The Longest Winter. Cover art by EJ Lance.
