Donating toys and games
Give a little joy this Christmas
Thank you for your interest in donating toys and gifts to our children’s hospital departments through Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity (DBHC).
Your generosity helps bring comfort, distraction and moments of joy to babies, children and young people receiving care across our hospitals, especially during the festive season.
Donating in a way that supports children all year round
In December 2025 we fundraised to purchase a magical mobile sensory unit for the Children’s Outpatients Department and this year, our children’s ward at the Royal Derby would love another unit to be purchased for their use.
This Christmas we are fundraising to purchase an additional mobile sensory unit for the Children's Ward at Royal Derby Hospital. If you'd like to be a part of supporting children all year round in this way, please donate online at the bottom of this page.
Where to donate
To comply with infection control requirements and safeguarding policies we are unable to accept gifts directly on hospital wards.
Donations can be delivered to our Children’s Ward main entrances, where we would be delighted to meet you and, if you wish, take a photograph by our Christmas display to celebrate your support.
To help us thank you personally and ensure someone is available to receive your donation, please contact us in advance to arrange a delivery slot.
“As a local business owner, I feel it’s important to give back to my community. I was initially planning on donating Christmas presents, but I chose to donate to the appeal as I felt the sensory unit will make a difference to so many children, all year round.”
