Charity Elf Day receives amazing support from local schools
Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity recently launched an appeal for local schools to sign up for their Elf Day and have been amazed by the incredible response.
Nine schools have now signed up and are already planning some amazing activities — from non-uniform days to sponsored elf runs.
Jill Matthews, Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity’s Chief Officer, is overjoyed by the response. “It’s fantastic to see such a great response to our Elf Day by local schools. We are so grateful to all the schools that have signed up so far. Christmas is a magical time of year and, thanks to all the amazing schools signed up to our Elf Day, we can support music in our children’s hospitals as a result of their fundraising.
“Every school that takes part by holding an Elf Day, will receive a welcome pack which includes an elf name generator and lots of wonderful activities. What’s more, every school that takes part will also receive a visit from our charity mascot, Lambie.” Added Jill.
For those schools taking part in an Elf Day, this is what fundraising can support:
- £20 could fund a 20-minute personal interaction with a professional musician.
- £50 could fund a collective musical experience for the children on a ward, where children create a piece of music or song together with a musician.
