Charity receives support from local travel firm

Local independent travel agency, CLS Travel, based in Mickleover, have chosen to support Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity this year, with £10 from every holiday booked, through them, being donated.

The company, which is run by local husband and wife team Clare and Rod Stege, offer a bespoke holiday planning and booking service.     With over 10 years’ experience in the travel industry, the pair are expecting 2025 to be a busy time.

“We expect 2025 to be a very busy year for holidays and, as a result, we wanted to offer our clients the ability to benefit a local charity when booking with us.  We came up with the idea of donating £10 from every holiday booked to the hospital charity as it does so much to support patients and staff in Derby, Derbyshire and Staffordshire.”

The travel duo have also booked a regular “stall” at the Royal Derby Hospital so that staff and patients can come and chat to them about the travel service they provide.

“We will be spending some time on Level five at the Royal Derby Hospital throughout 2025, so we’d encourage anyone thinking of booking a holiday to come and have a chat with us.  The service we offer is truly bespoke and enables us to create trips to suit all budgets,” said Clare.

The charity is fortunate to receive a lot of support from corporate organisations who choose to make donations, provide raffle prizes and fundraise by holding charity events.   Any company wishing to support the charity this year or would like them as their charity of the year, should contact Derby & Burton Hospital Charity by emailing uhdb.charity@nhs.net.
