Two Local NHS Charities Become One
On 1st July 2018, five hospitals in Derby, Burton, Lichfield and Tamworth merged to form the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust and provide the highest quality care to patients across Southern Derbyshire and South East Staffordshire by bringing together the expertise of 12,000 staff across our five different hospital sites.
As part of this merger Derby Hospitals Charity is also merging with Burton Hospitals Charity. The newly merged charity, which was officially formed on 1st July, will have a new name and logo unveiled in the coming months.
Julie Chapman, Charity Manager, said “Everyone from both charities is very excited about working across a broader geographical area and joining forces will enable us to meet a wider range of fundraisers and provide even more support across all of the hospital sites. We urge supporters of both charities to come together to support the charity so that between us all we can do even more to “make patients’ lives better”.
The charity will support all areas of work at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust Donors with supporters still being able to donate to a ward or department of their choice at Derby, Burton, Lichfield or Tamworth.
