DCFC Women’s Team visit Derby Children’s Hospital to spread festive cheer
Players and staff members from Derby County Women’s Team met patients, their families and staff at Royal Derby Hospital as part of their annual Christmas visit on Christmas Eve.
Hannah Ward (Club Captain and DCFC Ambassador), Amy Sims (1st Team Captain), Emily Joyce, Becky McGrother, Charlotte Steggles, Kira Rai, Anna Draper, Sarah Newton and coaches Kiran Savage (Coach), Franco Buonaguro (Coach), Dan Dobrzycki (Coach) joined the hospital’s play team members as they spent time speaking with staff and gifting presents to patients on the Puffin and Dolphin wards, along with a trip to the Children’s Emergency Department.
Fran Watson, Senior Hospital Play Team Specialist at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, said: “We all look forward this visit every year as it brings so much joy to see the smiles on the children’s faces as they meet the players and coaching staff.”
The club also donated a series of gifts for the Children’s Hospital to provide entertainment to future patients and their families.
