Let’s work together – why Visiting Angels Burton & Derby have chosen to support our charity
We are incredibly grateful for the support which we receive from our corporate supporters across Derby, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. Each one of these local businesses all have something in common – they all have workforces that will all rely on the NHS for their health and wellbeing, at some point in their life. Working closely with these local businesses enables us to show the impact that their support provides to patients and staff being cared for, or working in, our hospitals.
What makes this partnership unique is that it’s not just Visiting Angels’ workforce who rely on the NHS – but also their clients.
Led by proud owners Andrew and Helen Lofts, Visiting Angels Burton & Derby is dedicated to delivering exceptional care that helps people live independently at home. From companionship to complex and end-of-life care, their ‘Angels’ provide unrushed, consistent, high-quality support to those who need it most. Helen explains, “We don’t call them carers, we call them Angels, because that’s exactly what they are.”
When we visited their offices – decorated with awards recognising staff achievement, Andrew and Helen told us how much they value their team, who achieve an incredible 97% staff retention rate. Helen shared why this matters: “High retention rates ensure continuity and consistency of visits by our Angels so they build up real lasting relationships, you’ve got to build trust and that’s something we do really well”.
On the new partnership with our charity, Helen said:
“As a company, we’ve been wanting to adopt a charity and Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity fits perfectly. We care for people in their homes in the community and the hospitals care for them in hospital – so let’s work together”.
She added: “When our clients are in hospital, our Angels visit them, so they see first-hand the amazing care delivered by hospital staff. We already have Angels wanting to abseil down Derby Cathedral and even skydive in support of the charity!”
