The T&O Trio Are Taking on the Alton Towers Half Marathon!
The T&O Trio—Anya, Abby, and Vicky from The Elective Trauma & Orthopaedic Ward at the Royal Derby Hospital have accepted the challenge of running the Alton Towers Half Marathon on 17th November!
The T&O Trio have joined forces to raise funds for the Orthopaedic Unit at the Royal Derby Hospital, with all donations supporting Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity. Specifically, they’re raising money to buy a new Pat Slide ‘Weighing Board’, which will enhance the care provided to Spinal and NOF (Neck of Femur) patients who are bed-bound. This piece of equipment will make a huge difference in terms of both patient comfort and staff safety, and they’re determined to make it happen!
Anya and Abby have both previously completed a half marathon, while Vicky is new to the long-distance running game, so, there’s a bit of a mix of experience and enthusiasm, but they’re all in it together!
The course will be like no other as it’s set within the grounds of Alton Towers theme park and the trio will be free to try out the rides after they have finished if think they need an extra bit of adrenaline!
We caught up with Abby and Vicky in the run up to the event, this is what they had to say:
The Trio are aiming to raise a total of £1,500. If you would like to support the T&O Trio, please visit their JustGiving page: https://bit.ly/tandotrio
We want to send a huge good luck to Vicky, Abby, and Anya as they take on this incredible challenge. Their dedication and determination are truly inspiring, and we know they’ll give it their all on race day.
Thank you to everyone who has supported them so far, and for those still considering a donation—your generosity will have a lasting impact on patient care.
