Patient Wheelchairs Get Upgrade
Patient Wheelchairs at Queens Hospital Burton have had a makeover thanks to the ingenuity of the Facilities Management team at Burton and support from Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity.
The updated wheelchairs fell into disrepair after heavy use and Deputy Facilities Manager, Dave Gallagher, saw the opportunity to redesign the chairs to benefit both patients and porters.
“It all started with getting feedback from staff and patients about the old chairs and from there we went on the trial lots of options to find the best solution to help support our hospital.
It has been a long process but we now finally have a fleet of new and up scaled wheelchairs that will make a huge difference.”
