DESCRIPTION:Attention thrill-seekers and those with a head for heights\, we invite you to participate in the exhilarating charity abseil at Derby Cathedral\, making its comeback in August 2024. \nYou’ll ascend the 189 steps to reach the summit of the cathedral’s iconic tower. Once at the top\, you’ll be able to take in panoramic views of the city before being securely harnessed.  Then\, it’s your chance to take the plunge\, abseiling the 212 feet back down. \nExperience the unique opportunity to observe the clock-face up close as you gracefully abseil down the tower. Every penny raised through your sponsorship will contribute to making a huge difference for patients and staff being cared for and working across Derby\, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. \nHow to sign up. \nAbseiling opportunities are open from 8 am to 5 pm\, making participation in the Derby Cathedral Abseil a breeze. \nJust choose your time slot and add the number of tickets to your basket\, complete the registration form and complete your registration with a £20 fee per person. We kindly request participants to raise a minimum of £100 each through sponsorship for their abseil. \nCancellation: \nWe can only offer refunds or exchanges if an event has been cancelled or rescheduled.  \nWe do offer a 24-hour cooling off period\, allowing you to request a refund within 24 hours of your booking.   \nBookings made within 14 days of the event are exempt from the cooling off period.

SUMMARY:Derby Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Take part in the Asda Foundation Derby Half Marathon (formerly known as the Ramathon) and raise funds for Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity.  The race is the  oldest and biggest event of its kind in Derbyshire and places sell out fast. \nThis race has proved to be an extremely popular addition to Run For All’s events calendar\, attracting thousands of runners and raising loads of cash for good causes. \nThe event will be bigger and better than ever. The exciting new route starts and finishes in Iron Gate close to Derby Cathedral and takes in Pride Park Stadium\, Alvaston Park and the stunning scenery of Elvaston Castle Country Park. \nThe course is fast and flat. A fantastically vibrant atmosphere on the day is guaranteed. \nAs well as being the pride of the city\, runners crossing the finish line can look forward to some great rewards including a bespoke T-shirt\, medal and goody bag containing well-earned post-race treats. \nRunners need to be 17 on race day to take part. \nRegistration fee for the event is £20 (plus booking fee) and the minimum sponsorship is £100.  CLICK HERE TO REGISTER  \n

Thank you \n  \nDate: Saturday\, 18th May 2024 \nLocation: Langar Airfield\, Harby Road\, Langar\, Nottingham\, NG13 9HY \n\nRegistration – £6.\nMin sponsorship – £400\n\nAbout the event \nTake a leap of faith and feed the thrill-seeker hiding within\, by taking part in a charity tandem skydive for Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity. \nFor many\, skydiving is a once in a lifetime experience\, giving you the chance to freefall 10\,000ft and reach speeds of up to 120mph. \nPlease note that for tandem skydives there is a MAXIMUM WEIGHT (fully clothed) of 95 kg (15 stone) or 83 kg (13 stone) if you are less than 163cm (5ft 4in). This limit is in place for your own safety and that of our instructors.  \n  \nFor a tandem skydive in the UK you must be a minimum age of 16. Anybody who is under 18 years old will need a parent or guardian who can also sign the forms. \nWhat’s included? \nWhen you take part in the tandem Skydive for Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity\, we’ll be with you every step of the way to help with your fundraising.  You will receive: \n\nA full safety briefing\nFundraising support from a dedicated member of the Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity Team.  They will help you reach your fundraising goals and provide you with all the support and advice you may need to help you spread the word about your fantastic challenge\nA FREE supporting Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity T-shirt\n\nWhat does it cost?  \n\nRegistration costs only £60 per person\nMinimum sponsorship (excluding gift aid) is £400\nVideo and photo packages are available and cost an additional: £85\n\nPlaces are limited so please be quick.  To apply for a place\, for more information about the event or to discuss fundraising requirements\, please call 01332 788861 or email vicky.carey@nhs.net \nFrequently asked questions \nAre spectators allowed to attend?  Yes\, absolutely. There is a large spectator area at Skydive Langar along with picnic benches.  They are situated in an ideal location so your friends and family can watch you in action and cheer you on. There is also a café onsite where you can purchase food and drinks. \nWhat should I wear when I complete my Skydive? Please ensure that your wear clothes that are comfortable and something that you can move around in easily. If it’s a cold day\, you should wrap up warm and bring a pair of gloves to wear. \nWhat happens if the weather is too bad to Skydive? In accordance with British Skydiving Regulations\, we must operate within strict safety limits with regards to cloud cover and wind speeds.  If the weather is deemed unsuitable for your tandem skydiving\, you will be given the opportunity to re-schedule your booking for another time\, at your convenience. \nShould I eat before the jump? Absolutely\, please do eat as normal. We always advise participants to eat before they jump. Adrenaline does not like empty stomachs! \nWill I receive any training before I jump? Yes\, you will receive a full safety briefing with an instructor before you jump. They will cover all aspects of the Skydive with you including\, the equipment and what to expect.
