Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity Announce London Marathon Charity Places for 2026
Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a number of charity places in the 2026 TCS London Marathon.
This marks the first time that the charity has been allocated places at this world-famous event.
Applications are now open for individuals aged 18 or over, who would like to take on the iconic 26.2 mile challenge, while raising funds to support patients, families and staff across UHDB hospitals in Derby, Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
Whether a seasoned marathoner or a first-time runner, the charity is keen to hear from anyone interested in taking part and sharing what running for the charity would mean to them.

With a limited number of places available, Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity encourages anyone who would like to apply to do so as soon as possible. Successful applicants will showcase a strong connection to the charity, a clear commitment to fundraising and a genuine enthusiasm for taking on this huge challenge.
Support for runners
Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity is committed to supporting their marathon runners every step of the way. Successful applicants will receive fundraising support throughout their marathon journey as well as:
- Free T-shirts: A t-shirt and vest to wear during training and the marathon.
- Masterclasses: Sessions with strength and conditioning specialists (who are giving their time for free), to optimise performance.
- A post–event celebration: A celebration to say thank you.
